Who We Are
Santiago Backpackers is a social hostel that runs in a 100-year old restored house perfectly located in the Bellas Artes district, where most of Santiago's attractions are within walking distance. If you are looking to meet fellow travellers from all around the world, or simply want to stay comfortably in a hostel with character and several options for accommodation, come and join us!

Great base to see Santiago from!
This hostel is perfectly located in the centre of Santiago with bars, restaurants, metro and shops really nearby. The hostel itself is clean with a great breakfast and good communal areas.
Really nice place in Santiago
It's a clean place, calm and the people are efficient, helpful and respectful. You have the all comfort to put your stuff and space (the beds aren't encroached upon each other).
Great place to stay
I was travelling on my own. So wanted to be staying central. Santiago backpacker was perfect. Easy walk to lots of thing. Staff were great. Friendly and helpful. The dorms were great. Huge rooms.

To reach us, simply take the green line of the subway and get off at Bellas Artes station; once you are at the street level, walk west for 2 blocks until Mac Iver st., turn right and walk for another block and a half, we are at the 661 of Mac Iver st. Plaza de Armas station is also equally distant.
If you are coming from Santiago's airport, you can either take a shuttle (around US$12) and give them our address, or you can take a 'Centro Puerto' bus (US$ 3) that will leave you at Pajaritos subway station (red line), where you can continue your trip towards downtown. Taxis are another option and they will cost you around US$35, we can book one for you. Just email us your flight details and number of guests (up to 4 with little luggage)
